what of it?

yeah i did it. yeah i just made the fully sober 2am journey to the fast food monster we know and love crown fried chicken . one might not be aware, but wonderful crownfried locations can be found in DC, maryland, new jersey, pennsylvania, rhode island, tennessee?? and of course new york (there are now 19 locations in new york alone). of course its a thursday morning just after 2 so the grill is off which means no sandwiches, this usually throws me away from my standard "number one" or the occasional "italian cheeseburger," but not tonight, i was there with a different resolution. the wonderful combo of mozzarella sticks and mashed potatoes. the last of which i just finished between the latter sentence and this one. i love cfc and it seems that every time i go there i end up making a friend or an enemy of some sort. there will either be fellow drunk college students or some neighborhood locals who are more than happy to let me know i don't belong in their neighborhood and to "go the fuck back where you came from." even though this is a regular occurrence crown fried chicken is really an asset to the neighborhood and as i learned from the website, crownfriedchicken.com, welcomes all types of customers from all walks of life...

"At CrownFriedChicken.com we hope to assist you in your search for the fine establishment closest to your home, place of business or wherever you might find yourself. Whether you've been eating there for years or you are a college student new to the neighborhood, CrownFriedChicken.com is here to serve you!"

its always good to know that when i'm in a jam crwonfriedchicken.com will be there to held find the fine establishment closest to my home, place of business or wherever i might find myself. there is also a merchandise section of the site where one can find shirts and more shirts and underwear and shirts for the dog and so on that unfortunately do no boast the bold crown logo but rather a silly chicken head and the words crownfriedchicken.com encircling him. they also have wall clocks, steins and teddy bears.

at any rate i have a five page paper to write tonight and i just saw a mouse in my apartment so i'll wrap it up here.
i'm moving.
fuck crownfried

elinor carucci

elinor carucci came to give a speech at pratt today. she is an interesting photographer who has an eye that could be generally define as straight forward and even "novice." but the tenderness and warmth with which she addresses her subjects brings an intimacy and substantiality to her work. these aspects and her blatant honesty touches the viewer and left me very interested in her life.

sunday evening adressed

0, how incomprehensible everything was, and actually sad, although it was also beautiful. One knew nothing. One lived and ran about the earth and rode through forests, and certain things looked so challenging and promising and nostalgic: a star in the evening, a blue harebell, a reed green pond, the eye of a person or a cow. And sometimes it seemed that something never seen yet long desired was about to happen, that a veil would drop from it all; but then it passed, nothing happened, the riddle remained unsolved, the secret spell unbroken, and in the end one grew old and looked cunning … or wise … and still one knew nothing perhaps, was still waiting and listening.
- Hermann Hesse

a friend of mine read this to me the other night when i really needed to hear it, all i could say was "that's what i’ve been trying to say." this quote verbalizes the intangible emotions that i can only taste, smell, feel, hear, and see but cannot express which send me into a frantic need for "a need beyond needs for familiarity" as alex would say. there is still so much that is possible. a promise for excitement, an opportunity for the unexpected, a memory that becomes nostalgia, the past becoming impluses and the dream that the present could also be as fourtunate, but "still one knew nothing perhaps, was still waiting and listening." thanks faye.

faces of the gates salon

these are some portraits i did recently of the two of the four wonderful hosts of the bi-weekly gates salon. robert snyderman and christopher red martiny were kind enough to sit for me to have their likeness recorded. if you've never been to a gates salon the next one should be october 25th at gates and classon. bring your best poetry, stories, art work and a bottle of whiskey.

an opening

so sean convinced me that i should copy him and start a blog so i can waste even more of my life on the internet. sean says it's more fulfilling than facebook and aaron says "it would be so cool to start something like that.. even if no one ever looks at it." so here is a photo that i took with my phone.
